BISS has carried out a number of policy analysis projects in key sectors of Latvia’s social and political life:
• societal integration;
• official language use;
• bilingual education;
• health care reform;
• constitutional reform.
– political marketing research
BISS has designed and implemented several projects for the purpose of political marketing since 1998. The institute has been contracted to explore the image of particular political parties and their leaders, to analyze public responses to changes in policy positions, to explore popularity of candidates to be fielded in the elections and to accomplish other tasks.
– social marketing research
BISS has implemented a pioneering research project on the public image of the Latvian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development in 2002.
– monitoring and analysis of public information campaigns
BISS has carried out a complete sequence of monitoring and analysis of the information campaign on health care system reform and on the introduction of the second level of old-age pension scheme in Latvia.
– research on political parties
BISS is involved in ongoing research on Latvian political parties and party system, social and political cleavages underlying them, party finance and party organizational life.
